PODCAST Projects

Maastricht Talks Europe

Maastricht Talks Europe is the video podcast from Maastricht School of Europe Studies. It is a monthly vodcast which aims to shed a light on what happens in Europe, why it matters and how it impacts daily life. I serve as the host of the vodcast and welcome experts from public policy, civil society, private sector and academia.

Sesta

Sesta was a culture podcast I hosted and produced for Island Talks, Cyprus’s first and only trilingual podcast station. The show was recognised by the United Nations and featured in the 2022 Women, Peace and Security Highlights by UN Peacekeeping.

Running from January 2022 to April 2025, Sesta gave voice to artists and intellectuals who use arts and culture to challenge the intractable conflict in Cyprus. It explored themes such as Cypriot identity, unification, peacebuilding, gender equality, and democracy—through a cultural lens.

While grounded in Cyprus, Sesta also welcomed international guests to highlight the universal relevance of culture in conflict transformation.

BUFFER-OUT!

Buffer-Out! was a podcast series I co-produced with the Home for Cooperation, a unique community centre based in the UN Buffer Zone in Nicosia. Funded by the Active Citizens Fund, the series ran from October 2022 to May 2023 as part of a project by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research.

The podcast featured personal reflections from peacebuilders connected to the Home for Cooperation, sharing their experiences and individual journeys in the wider peacebuilding landscape of Cyprus.

UNFICYP PODCAST-out loud!

Out Loud is the official podcast of UNFICYP, the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. I was invited to speak on the podcast alongside Eleni Antoniou as part of the 2023 International Women’s Day initiative. In the episode, I shared my experiences as a woman podcaster from a divided country, reflecting on the role of storytelling, representation, and voice in peacebuilding.

womanica

Womanica is an award-winning five-minute daily podcast produced by New York–based Wonder Media Network, spotlighting remarkable women from history. With over 1.3 million unique listeners and 11 million downloads, it’s hosted by award-winning journalist Jenny Kaplan.

In November 2022, I guest-hosted the podcast for its “peacebuilders” series, sharing the stories of women who led peace efforts in their communities—from India to South Africa to the United States. One of the sessions I hosted is listed under “our favourites” series of Womanica. You can listen to it below.

SEEKING PEACE

Seeking Peace is a podcast produced by Georgetown University’s Institute for Women, Peace and Security, in partnership with the United Nations Department of Peace Operations, Our Secure Future, and Wonder Media Network. The series highlights women’s roles in building lasting peace—from grassroots activism to diplomacy and peacekeeping.

I was interviewed in Season 3, where I spoke about my podcast Sesta and its contribution to peacebuilding in post-conflict Cyprus.

MELTEM`S CULTURE CLub

Meltem’s Culture Club was my first podcast project, launched during lockdown in June 2021 and running until February 2022. This monthly bilingual (English and French) podcast explored culture, politics, society, and the arts, featuring book, film, TEDx, and travel reviews.
