Welcome

My name is Meltem, and I am a teacher and assesor with experience in United Nations peacebuilding initiatives, including the Peace Begins with Her project in New York and Geneva.

I currently work as a lecturer in EU policy and politics at the Maastricht School of European Studies. My academic responsibilities include designing and delivering courses, assessing student performance, coordinating teaching blocks, and supervising both projects and internships.

My areas of expertise lie in EU-level policy, particularly in the fields of gender equality, sustainability (Inner Development Goals), and participatory democracy. I also supervise projects related to EU competitiveness and cohesion policy.

You can engage me for a range of professional activities, including:

  • Guest lectures on EU politics, policies, and institutions;
  • Masterclasses and workshops on the Inner Development Goals framework, e.g. empathetic leadership with an IDG perspective;
  • Podcast/vodcast collaborations;
  • Guest lectures on peacebuilding;
  • Guest lectures on the conflict in Cyprus.
